Reflexology Is Relaxing, But Does It Really Works

Reflexology is a very popular alternative therapy, especially in Dubai spas and massage centers. Anyone who has ever experienced a reflexology session in Dubai must understand how relaxing reflexology is and how it will rejuvenate your skills. Reflexologists when massage our feet, we sometimes feel slight pain in our feet, but eventually the result is ‘simply awesome’.

During a reflexology session certain amount of pressure is applied to the feet of a patient, in order to heal a specific disease. A reflexologist looks for a specific power point, believing that it is linked to a body organ which is suffering from some kind of pain. However, sometimes reflexologists make fake assumptions (many have professionals admit that) especially when something abnormal is felt. They simply drag the patient into strange situations and apply reflexology, using the charts most probably present in their clinics.

Does it actually work?

Honestly, the treatment mostly gives relaxation and is considered enjoyable, however, the assumption are nonsensical for two reasons:

Firstly:  There are no connected nerves or any other connection between a body organ and foot.

Secondly:  The map mostly followed by reflexologists generally differs with each other and mostly a contradiction of the statement is observed among reflexologists. They can get confused with which area corresponds to which organ. Thus, inconsistencies are observed in the realm of reflexologists.

However, reflexology supporters are still with the satisfactory results and believe that their assumptions are right, but science must be wrong or have fewer studies so far. The reason is that they believe patient receives the goodness of this healing treatment. After all, they pay bucks for one session and they have to get the results in any way.

Most reflexologists believe in an opinion gathered from a UK based experiment, where 8 reflexology specialists were asked to treat almost 25 conditions including with cancer and AIDS. Collectively, the organization felt that 22 out of 25 conditions responded to reflexology, but we should remember it was an opinion based on observation and has no scientific proof.

Although many can assume that this is just a difference of opinion, but we have some clinical studies to prove our point. For instance, reflexology is applied on menopausal patients, but it has no effect on them. In addition to that, we have a systematic review to evaluate 23 different conditions, where wide range of conditions showed poor methodological results. Nine randomized clinical trials (RCTs) generated negative findings. Moreover, 8 RCTs suggested that reflexology is effective for conditions like premenstrual syndrome, multiple sclerosis, cancer, diabetes, dementia and idiopathic detractor. These studies can be claimed as bias, however, they actually provide us diligent clinical evidence that reflexology is not an effective medical treatment. So, we believe that it is extremely beneficial for people to know that reflexology Dubai may be very relaxing, but it is not a medical treatment.
